The rugged Norse is not particularly known for their archery, but the use of bow and arrow certainly existed during the age of Vikings. In fact, the Heimskringla accounts several uses of offensive archery tactics during raids, using shield walls to cover them whilst moving ahead.
Ullr, the son of Sif, was known for his hunting and use of archery. His home was called "dalr", which suggested his bow was made of fine yew wood. Unlike the like of Thor or Odin, however, Ullr was not one of the sir gods, but is still noted in several stories to be mention directly by Odin.
